What's your item....be it family...military...inherited item you would not part with for love or money ?
Mine ...
When my 1st born arrived in 1984 I was wearing a gaudy pair of underpants....I kept them to one side and wore them again another two times in 1994 + 1996...these were my lucky underpants...when my eldest got married 5 yrs ago at the reception (Fathers Speech time) I whipped the said underpants out of my suit pocket and proudly explained to the captive audience the meaning of the cherished item. The staff and audience in this posh Yorkshire castle were in stitches....all captured on video ....My old "Dung Hampers"....priceless.

I have two Davey lamps from the pit. One I carried for 10 years and another which was presented to me new in 1989 after Golborne colliery closed. They are in my will to go to my Grandkids when I pop my clogs Never cleaned either I think they look more authentic with dust on them

I had a pin stripped suit that i loved but Mrs plum gave it to my son to take to the skool jumble sale , The Teecher held it up and asked the kids, Who 's Frank Nitties kid in here, My lad came home that day with a right strop on because all the kids knew he's brought it in and, I had a right strop on too because Mrs Plum had gave it away,,

I sill have the coat of my wedding suit - it is serge blue in velvet... 1975.
But my prize possession is my grandmother's headscarf which I sometimes use as a cravat. I also have her cast iron flat irons which I use as bookends.

My dads gold watch, given to him for group service by the De Havilland Aircraft company in Lostock on his retirement or DEE Happiland as my dad called it. Had some great Christmas parties there when I was a kid ,always got quality presents.

When my grandma died I was living abroad, so didn't get an opportunity to be given any keepsakes.

However, mum got a few Victorian glass dishes, including a sweet dish which stands on a single pedestal, and is fluted around the top of the dish itself. I no longer use Photobucket so can't show you, but it is very dear to me.

Her whole home was decorated in the Victorian style, even down to gas lighting as there was no electricity in those houses, but I have a very clear memory of it.
